Mission Walk & Picnic FAQ:

What Is Our District Mission Walk & Picnic?

A ministry of our Long Island East District, the District Mission Walk & Picnic is our way of helping our local churches come together to reach their mission goals.

How Does It Work?

Each church registers the mission project and the amount that they will be fundraising for at LIEdistrict.com/MissionWalk. When you’ll do, our team will begin working on your online fundraising page, and you’ll receive an email confirmation when it is ready. We’ll also add your church to the Individual Registration webpage, which you can share with your team.

Can We Collect Funds Offline?

Absolutely – just be sure to report the total that your church privately received to us so that we can share the good news!

Do I Need To Walk 5 kilometers?

No! Each trip around Belmont Lake is about 2.5km of paved trails, so we plan to walk around twice. However, you can step off at any point – or not walk at all. To us, the fellowship and the funds raised for your mission project are the important part!

Can I Bring My Dog?

Yes! Dogs need to remain on no more than a 6 ft leash and should avoid the picnic areas when possible.

Are Children Welcome?

YES!!! The Mission Walk & Picnic is a family-friendly event, and there will be activities for all ages.

Are There Any Other Costs To Our Group?

Our LIE District provides for everything – including lunch – so that you can just focus on fundraising. However, NYS Parks does charge $8 per vehicle as you enter the park unless you have an Empire Pass.
